CSK Showcases the Full Wood-Mizer Range at Brisbane Open Day

March 30, 2026

On Saturday, 14 March, Combined Saw and Knife (CSK) welcomed customers and woodworking enthusiasts to its Brisbane showroom for a Wood-Mizer Open Day, with hands-on demonstrations and a broader equipment line-up than you’d typically see at a trade show.

The Open Day helped visitors see the breadth of Wood-Mizer’s range and understand which configurations best suit different milling goals. With more space than a typical exhibition stand, CSK was able to show multiple sawmill set-ups alongside edgers, resaws, log splitters, and log handling solutions.

Among the machines on display was the Wood-Mizer LT40 hydraulic sawmill, which drew strong interest for its user-friendly controls and efficient log handling. CSK also showcased the LT range for entry-level milling, plus the LX30 and LX50 models—popular with hobbyists looking to expand capability.

Beyond machinery, CSK highlighted its support services—from sawmill blade supply and aftercare to servicing, maintenance advice, and technical guidance. The team can weld Wood-Mizer blades to size for virtually any sawmill brand (not just Wood-Mizer), helping customers get the best long-term performance and reliability from their set-up.

“We’re not just a one- or two-product company,” Liz Flanjak, CSK owner, explained. “The Open Day gives people a chance to see the full picture and understand what’s possible.”

Around 30 people attended on the day. While numbers were slightly down on previous events, the audience was highly engaged—mostly woodworking enthusiasts and members of local woodworking clubs, with strong interest from the hobbyist and small-scale professional market.

Live demonstrations were a key part of the day, letting visitors see machines in action, ask questions, and even operate equipment firsthand. The hydraulic mill stood out in particular, with many impressed by its efficiency while weighing up the investment against budget and workload.

The relaxed, informal setting proved to be one of the event’s key strengths. With time to slow down and talk through projects, the CSK team could better understand each visitor’s needs, answer questions in depth, and point them toward the right set-up.

“Customers like to come in, touch and feel the equipment, and have proper conversations,” Liz said. “It’s a very different experience to a quick visit during the week.”

A highlight of the day was a customer interview with Marilyn Kunde, who purchased an LT15 Wide about a year ago. She shared practical, real-world feedback that helped prospective buyers think through their own purchase.

The event also reinforced CSK’s role as a committed Wood-Mizer dealer in Australia, supporting customers with equipment, servicing, spare parts, blades, and technical expertise.

Looking ahead, CSK plans to continue hosting annual Open Days, typically early in the year ahead of the busy trade show season.

For those who couldn’t attend, the message was clear: the Open Day was a chance to compare options, see Wood-Mizer equipment up close, and talk with the CSK team before making an investment.
