What does it take to renovate under pressure, on camera, and in front of an entire nation? For contestants on The Block, it takes grit, creativity—and the right tools. That’s why Wood-Mizer Australia is proud to be part of the 2025 season of The Block, supplying equipment trusted by professionals and passionate builders alike.
This year, a selection of Wood-Mizer’s high-performance timber equipment has been featured on set, supporting contestants as they take on high-stakes timber builds in tight timeframes.

The Machines Behind the Magic
Helping contestants bring their visions to life are two standout Wood-Mizer machines:
-
LT35 Hydraulic Sawmill – This powerful sawmill lifts, turns, and slices logs with ease, transforming raw timber into construction-ready material—all with precision and minimal effort.
-
EG300 Edger – A workhorse machine that refines rough timber into smooth, straight boards, ready for use.
Both machines are known across Australia for their rugged reliability and consistent performance, making them perfect companions for builders working under the intense pressure of the show.

A Sustainable Timber Story
Wood-Mizer’s involvement didn’t stop at equipment. They also partnered with their long-standing client, The Wood-Project, specialists in reclaimed and sustainable timber. The result? Contestants had access to premium repurposed hardwoods—adding a deeper layer of meaning to each build.
Sarah, co-founder of The Wood-Project, shared: “At The Wood-Project, we specialise in giving new life to recycled timber. Our custom timber pieces are crafted with care, offering unmatched character and longevity. Nath and I felt strongly that The Block homes needed locally sourced and sawn wood that had a sustainability story. We can’t wait to see that story unfold.”
“Sustainability and craftsmanship go hand in hand,” says Alexa Vorster, Marketing Manager at Wood-Mizer. “We’re proud that our equipment—and our partners—help bring those values to life on such a widely watched platform.”

More Than Just a Cameo
Unlike traditional product placements, Wood-Mizer’s appearance on The Block was about function over fame. Their technical team handled the complete installation and removal of machines, ensuring everything ran smoothly behind the scenes, with no disruption to filming schedules.
“Being part of The Block this season felt like a natural fit,” said Alexa. “Our customers love living surrounded by timber—inside and out—and it’s something we see reflected in their own projects that started with wood sawn on their Wood-Mizer. Over our 40-plus-year history, customers have shared everything from handcrafted furniture and cosy cabins to large-scale homes and barns, all inspired by their connection to Live the Wood Life.”

Meeting the Moment
As more builders and renovators across Australia seek control over their timber sourcing, Wood-Mizer’s self-reliant solutions are becoming increasingly relevant—whether it’s for a TV show or a real-life dream home.
