Sustainable Renovations in the Spotlight
As The Block celebrates its 21st season, Wood-Mizer is getting noticed.
We’re proud to be featured in Mediaweek Australia’s article, “Why audiences (and sponsors) love The Block,” highlighting how our sawmills are helping shape smarter, more sustainable renovations.
We’re featured in Timberbiz!
Wood-Mizer is proud to be recognised in Timberbiz for our role in this season of The Block!
At the heart of the story is sustainability, with a strong focus on reducing waste, cutting transport emissions, and celebrating the beauty of reclaimed hardwoods. This was made possible through our collaboration with The Wood Project, who specialise in sourcing and repurposing local hardwoods to give them a second life in high-end builds.
Our LT35 portable sawmill was one of the key machines used on-site in Daylesford, helping turn these reclaimed timbers into something truly special.

Machines That Made the Cut
When the pressure’s on and the timelines are tight, only the most reliable tools make the cut. On The Block, contestants had access to some of Wood-Mizer’s most trusted timber processing machines—designed to handle real-world challenges with speed, power, and precision. From milling raw logs to edging clean boards, these machines didn’t just show up—they helped shape the final results..
All’s fair in Logs and War on The Block!
It started when Taz (House 3) grabbed a spray can and staked his claim on every log in sight.
Not to be outdone, Sonny (House 4) struck back—spray painting right over Taz’s marks to claim the timber for his own house projects.
With sawdust flying and projects on the line, a full-blown log war erupted.
And here’s a hint at who came out on top...
With “I’m a Lumberjack and I’m Okay” blasting, Scotty Cam and Taz fired up the Wood-Mizer LT35. Within minutes, Taz was sawing through logs like a pro—prompting Scotty to joke:
“If Taz can do it, anybody can!”
From log wars to live edge elegance, the Blockheads prove that with Wood-Mizer, it’s always From forest to final form.
Scotty Says It Straight
What does it take to build under pressure, stay true to your craft, and work with timber that tells a story?
The Block’s legendary host, Scotty Cam, takes us behind the scenes in an exclusive interview, sharing his thoughts on sustainable timber, powerful machinery, and why “If Taz can do it, anyone can do it.”
From sawing through logs like butter to create custom timber pieces, Scotty can't contain his excitement:
“This is a game changer for me.”
“You really don’t have to manhandle anything... it does it itself.”
Whether you're a tradie, a timber lover, or a fan of The Block - this is worth a watch.
